COMMANDMENT NUMBER NINE: DO NOT LIE Exodus 20:16 Synopsis
God made all things and when He made man, He did something with man that He did not do with anything else He made. Man was made in the image of God. One of the things man does is that other creatures cannot do is to speak. We speak and say good things about others but we can also speak and say things that are not true. God calls this lying. God has commanded us, who are made in His image, not to bear false witness against our neighbor. This is not telling the truth.
