Three Ingredients of True Worship
Summary
We often limit our worship to what we do in Church.
1. Remember God's mercy (v1). Previous chapters are about God's grace and mercy. Other religions talk about 'merit', Christianity is different - it is about 'mercy'. God offers us a (a) new status - right with God, (b) a new life - The Holy Spirit transforms us.
2. Offer our bodies to God (v1). We offer Him our best - saying to God everything I have is Yours. Total commitment. Examples, how do we use tongue, our feet, eyes etc. This is our 'logical' worship - only logical response to His mercy, and it pleases God.
3. The willingness to be different (v2). Follow God's perfect will. Often we are no different to those of the world. It starts with our mind (think, reprogram, helped by the Spirit). Our cultural is shifting away from Christianity. The more we do this, the more we will value it what God offers.
