God's wisdom
Summary
What is wisdom?
Here Paul address those who thought too much of themselves, and those who thought too lowly.
1. True wisdom defined. (6,7) Nothing to do with us - it is all from and about God. Its is Jesus Christ and Him crucified. It is not the wisdom of this age (v8). Don't confuse with intelligence or high IQ. Don't 'dumb' yourself down.
2. True wisdom revealed. (v10-13) Received through the Spirit. To those who love God. The Spirit enables us to understands the meaning of the Cross - God's salvation. The unbeliever does not understand (v14) because the Spirit has not yet revealed it to them (v11). The Spirit uses the Word of God. There is no ground for boasting.
3. True wisdom applied. (v14-16). We receive the 'mind of Christ'. Being 'like minded' with Christ - our life and actions will be moulded by Christ. Like a good marriage. This changes everything.
