1 Corinthians 16:1-24   Reading
Studies in the book of: 1 Corinthians
Being part of a big family
Summary
We need to get a big vision of the Church. Much in 1 Corinthians about local issues and leaders and rights. They were all about self.
1. Share what we have. (a) Money - (v1-3) Problem of famine in Jerusalem. On giving Paul says it should be regular, planned, all to give in accordance as God has blessed them. Have a generous heart - because we belong to the same family.
b). Give practical help. - (v5-11) give help to visiting missionaries. Paul tells of his work in Ephesus (v8,9), inviting the Corinthians to share in this.
2. Submit to those who serve and support the workers amongst us (examples, Timothy, Paul, Apollos). One of their own (v15). Value all who do the Lord's work. (v18). Be thankful to all who serve in some way within the local church.
3. Greet each other. (v19,20). We are related - God's family.

Paul ends this letter like he did at the start (1:2 - all who call on the Name of the Lord). We are family.
