Some times we must make a stand. People were tearing the Church at Galatia apart, and they did this by attacking Paul.
These false teachers were insisting they must have to follow the law. They implied Paul only had a second hand authority.
1. Origin of Paul's Gospel. (v11,12) Received by revelation from Jesus Christ. Two proofs (a) Paul was the least likely to be converted. (v13-14). But Paul met Jesus. (v15,16). (b) His gospel was developed in close relationship with Jesus in Arabia for 3 years. (v17).
2. Paul defends the content. 2:1 - After 14 years Paul goes to Jerusalem to check out the message (v4,6). The disciples accept Paul and his message (v7). When the Lord reveals the message , it is the same for both the Apostles and Paul.
3. Implications. (a) We need to take Paul seriously. Unfortunately, many Christian leaders downplay Paul and his importance. Paul is an Apostle sent by Jesus (b) Paul outlines the historical facts because he can. Biblical Christianity at its heart is about historical events. (c) Paul's Gospel is one of grace, enshrined in the way God acted towards Paul.
