There is no perfect. The Church at Corinth had many problems.
1. The Church's identity. God's own people - gathering of His people - not the building. It is not my Church, but God's Church. Sanctified (v2) - made holy - set apart as God's possession. What does God want from us?
2. The Church's resources. (v4-9). Paul thanks God for all He provides. This covers all of life, past, present and future. Currently be are being saved, full salvation is still to come - all of God's grace. In Christ we have all we need (v5). In v7 Paul says, 'you lack no spiritual gift'. Who has been enriched - its the Church, not the individual by themselves. Its a team effort. We all have different gifts. It all comes through Christ.
3. The Church's Unity. (v11-14). Subgroups have formed within the Church. The leaders are not divided, but rather about 'I'. They were 'self focussed' which divides and leads away from Christ. Paul's appeal (v10). Focussed 'in the Lord'.
Three short comments: (a) Keep Christ central in all we do. (b) All Christian Churches are 'the Church of God'. (c) Our culture is all about us, rather than Christ.
