Is Easter a fictional story, and does it matter?
The story is reliable - the empty tomb, and number of appearances.
Mark's account is reliable. Note the incidental and cultural facts.
His resurrection is good news because:
1. Jesus has risen and death is transformed. Death is no longer the final step.
2. Jesus is risen and so we can be forgiven. Peter was invited.
3. Jesus is risen, what next? He calls us to follow Him.
