Studies in the book of: Luke
Why do you call Jesus, 'Lord'?
Summary
Calling Jesus 'Lord' needs to be genuine.
1. What does Jesus expect of us? Obedience. Jesus requires much more than our respect - we owe Him obedience.
2. Why do we call Him ... Jesus is not talking to unbelievers, rather disciples. We may look the part. How? They like much of what Jesus says - BUT the closer one looks there are big differences. They opt for a middle ground.
3. What makes genuine disciples? They put into practice what they hear - and it is a lifetime job. The heart needs to right and transformed. The Holy Spirit will convict us when we fail.
What is the direction of our life? We are all facing the crisis of God's judgement.
