The gospel
Summary
Many things we use that don't really understand. What is the Gospel?
1. God's message. (v1) The whole Bible is the Gospel. Paul declared - God thought it up. It is more powerful than we can make up.
2. It is about Jesus. (v3,4) Jesus is a real historical human being. Born. He died - suffered a real historical death. Resurrected. Declared to be the Son of God in power, at the right hand of God. He is now reigning. Result of the Gospel. Being a Christian is total surrender to Jesus (v5). Paul regards himself as a servant (slave) and live by Jesus' rule.
3. It is for all. God is calling people from every nation.
4. Why has God made this announcement? So that Christ may be honoured. Life is not about us - the cult of self. We are 'saints' - transformed by the power of God's Gospel.

If the Gospel announcement is about Jesus, let's encourage each other. (v11,12) Mutually encouraged. Share (v14, 15).
