A mind for worship
Summary
Worship is our response to God's mercy.
1. Begins with sober thinking (v2) transformed mind. In v3 note the emphasis on the mind. Thinking. Our natural attitude is to put ourselves at the centre of all our thinking. Need to think like Gospel people. The 'participation' award mentality can put self at the centre of our thinking.
2. Not 'me' but 'we'. v4 - we belong to the Body of Christ. Cannot worship in isolation. Current thinking of society is about the individual. God is at the centre. We are complementary parts of the Body.
3. God's grace to the Church. v6. Our gifts are to serve the needs of the Body. Sometimes we have the need that is served by someone else. Our focus is on needs and not on our gifts. This is how we worship God.
