Luke 6:12-26   Reading
Studies in the book of: Luke
Are you satisfied now?
Summary
The plot to kill Jesus is under way. Jesus prays and appointing apostles.
1. Anyone can be a disciple. The 12 apostles were ordinary people. (Acts 4:13). Also, you can be privileged but not saved (eg Judas).
2. Favoured by God - Blessed. Not literal conditions, but who recognise their spiritual condition. There are physical suffering for some in being a disciple. We use our possessions differently, for others. Our appetites and hopes are transformed to wanting different things in life. We will be giving up much of what the world values - but Jesus knows this and we are favoured.
3. Woe to you. Jesus laments their condition. Don't let your appetites rule your destiny. They are fine with just what a few decades of life here can offer.
