Different practices for the Sabbath. Pharisees had clear cut laws.
1. Picking some heads of wheat. All the laws that were broken. Jesus answers Pharisees with a story about David. The Sabbath is there to serve us, ie rest. That is to rest in God. The Pharisees did not want to follow Jesus.
2. Healing on the Sabbath. Jesus does not back off - but heals publicly. Jesus challenges all the Pharisees. How did they react - they were furious - how can we get rid of this guy.
3. How is our knowledge and understand of the Scriptures. Often our aspirations are involved in work. Day seven is about the rest, eternity and the things that really matter. Clearly set our vision on Jesus. What about the small things.
