Acts 22:30-25:12   Reading
Studies in the book of: Acts
Paul's 4th missionary journey begins
Summary
What does 'faith in Christ' mean for us? Includes our responsibility for 'obedience' as unworthy servants.
1. Take courage. The attack of the Jews who plot to kill Jesus. In Acts 24 Felix keeps Paul in jail for 2 years (hoping for a bribe), and in chapter 25 Festus wants to send Paul back to Jerusalem. Paul eventually appeals to Caesar (25:12). It was Paul and the Lord's plan to go to Rome. The rest of Acts talks about what Paul was able to achieve, speaking before leaders of all ranks. The Lord equipped Paul and gave him the courage. What work has God planned for us to do?
2. Felix - 24:24,25. Paul told Felix what God and the Gospel is about. Felix was afraid. He pulled away, 'that is enough'. He had become hardened to the message. We can develop selective hearing. Many people don't follow through - they put it off.
Even as Christian we can be like Felix, and ignore those things that need to change. If God speaks to us then follow through.
