Luke 7:36-50   Reading
Studies in the book of: Luke
How big is your debt?
Summary
We like to ourselves out to be superior and better than others.
1. A sinful life. Though Jesus accepted sinners, he always calls for repentance. Her response to Jesus is humble love. All sinners will encounter Jesus. Tears of repentance. The other encounter is at Judgement.
2. How big is our debt. The Pharisees really wanted to do the right thing. Simon thought how superior he was to Jesus and the women. Neither could repay the debt. We all have a debt. (Rev 21:8). We are in danger of feeling we are not big sinners.
3. Your sins have been forgiven. Jesus uses the past tense of the women's sins being forgiven. Jesus removes the guilt and forgives us.
