Zacchaeus: 'Jesus found me'
Summary
1. Zacchaeus was lost. Tax collectors were outcasts, corrupt and worked for the enemy. Also wealthy. We are all lost.
2. Jesus found him. Calls him by name. Why would Jesus bother with such a man - it is Jesus who set up the meeting. (a) Zacchaeus was lost of lost. (b) Jesus found me - He takes the initiative - nothing to boast about. (c) Christianity is about relationship with Jesus. (d) Brings great Joy - the burden is lifted.
3. Jesus changed Zacchaeus. We are never the same again. Compare the rich young ruler. Have we been changed?
