What good things have you had done to you?
1. God's blessings. (v3) Being blessed by is to receive every spiritual good thing that God offers. Notice the things Paul does not list. The blessings Paul indicates, only God can give. (a) Certain (v4) God has chosen from all time for us to have these blessings - and continues even after death (v13). (b) They are over generous. v8,9 Lavished.
2. These blessings are ours in Christ. (v3,4,5) This is the only way to receive them - V7 through His sacrificial death fo our sins. Galatians 2:20 'His life in me'. They are gifts of grace through Christ, and are true now and through all eternity. Sealed by the Holy Spirit - sign of ownership - its a wonderful mark.
3. Our response of praise to His glory.(v5,6, 12, 14) All from God, and all for Him - we join in that praise. We don't worship the blessings, but the giver. We can do this by reminding each other how great God is. In a broken, greedy world, tell the world how great God is.
