Love like the Father
Summary
We love people who are worthy to be loved. But Jesus says 'love your enemies'.
1. What kind of love for our enemies? Original greek is more specific to our one English. Here, love means underserved kindness. Enemies are those who do you wrong, nasty or hurt you. It is not 'love is blind'. Jesus says this love is pro-active - seeks their good. Love, not because of who they are, but because of who you are. We need God to change our hearts to love.
2. Why love our enemies? So we are like our Father, and follow His example. This is what God does for us (eg Romans 5:10)
