Luke 16:19-31   Reading
Studies in the book of: Luke
Two masters, two destinies
Summary
What does it take to convince someone of Christ?
1. Being rich. (a) It is not evil, eg Abraham. (b) It has pitfalls. Promises false security. This rich man parades his wealth (c) It carries a responsibility - to share with poor and needy. This rich man paints a sad picture.
2. Hell. Jesus spoke more about hell than anyone else. Shut out of God's presence, but being conscious of that separation. Only punishment. No correction and then let out.
3, Who needs convincing? Where is our security? Lazarus - 'God helps'. If people do not listen to the prophets, they will not listen. God's word is all that is available.
