Is the devil real? Stuff of fantasy?
1. Demons are actual, personal realities. The poor man is living like an animal. Pop culture (movies) presents demons as something we can manage. But we cannot. Alliance - Eph 2:1-3 - world, flesh, devil - same goal to separate us from God.
2. Jesus came to restore. No one could subdue the demons, but they recognized Jesus' authority. The man was in his right mind - sitting at Jesus' feet.
3. Our Jesus responds to unbelief? How did the people respond - they asked Jesus to leave. More willing to live with evil, than have Jesus in their midst. Jesus respects their wishes, a sober warning. But Jesus gives them another opportunity by sending the healed man back to them.
