Easy to be distracted from the main thing.
1. The priority of preaching the Kingdom of God. Mentioned 3 times in passage. Notice the miracles authenticate the truth, they are not the main issue. Herod also is being distracted.
2. The feeding of the 5000. The King who by speaking does all sorts of great things.
3. Jesus as King provided for His people in abundance. He provides for the disciples, and the crowd. What do we make of a miracle like this. God provided manna during Exodus in the wilderness. Jesus provides in abundance. Most of all He provides through His sacrifice. He is all-sufficient for all life.
What we may need to do: (a) be aware of our spiritual amnesia - forget God's goodness. (b) be aware of distractions - can be good things that distract; or some doctrine (c) may need to repent of trying to get there ourselves - we need the gift from Jesus.
